I'm a mom now!
It all started at 7:00 am when we arrived at the hospital. My last appointment was the Friday before, one day before my due date. At my 36 week appointment my doctor checked me and told me I was 3cm dilated and 50% effaced, meaning I would likely deliver early. But I didn't. Logan had made himself comfortable I my tummy, and was sitting nice and low... for 4 more weeks. And for those of you who have had a baby, you know what it's like when the baby drops and the discomfort that can cause! Oy. So, when at my appointment before my due date my doctor asked if we would like to induce, there was no hesitation before my "YES".
So we arrived, got our paperwork done, and settled in. My doctor came in and we started the pitocin around 8:15. The contractions weren't too bad, but definitely there. At 9 she broke my water and then everything really started to pick up in the pain category. I endured about an hour or so, then requested an epidural. My nurse was amazing and was on top of everything the whole time. She had a student that she was showing the ropes to, which was kind of awkward because they asked me if I minded her being in the room when I delivered and since she was standing right there smiling at me and looking hopeful, I really couldn't find it in me to say no. So I said, "Sure". Yeah, sure. Why not just get everyone in there? Let's sell tickets or something. The epidural was not as terrifying as I thought it would be, and the anesthesiologist was a character to be sure, so sticking a huge needle in my back was really all in good fun.
After my epidural I was so relaxed I even slept a little, until about an hour later I felt some pressure... down there. I told the nurse I felt like I needed to poop and she calmly said, "Ok, let me just check you real quick", then, "You're ready to push". As the doctor was being summoned she suggested a practice push and as I did she quickly said, "Stop, stop, stop! You don't need any practice."
The doctor came in and I silently pushed out my son in 4 pushes. Then at 11:58 am, there he was beside me, being wiped off and peeing all over the nurse. It was incredible and so surreal to see that a little 7 pound, 6 ounces, 19 3/4 inches long human just came out of me. And it all took less than 4 hours.

humble abode

so in march we bought a used trailer. during our engagement jed and i discussed what we wanted in a "first home" and we both decided we would be content with something small and cheap so that later, once we get a better handle on our student loans, we would have some kids and eventually build the house of our dreams. that's the plan anyway...
so, jed took the role as an active pursuer of our perfect starter home. we decided that the trailer route was the cheapest way to go, assuring pretty low payments. we had many leads, and actually went through the process of applying for a loan to get a very nice new trailer, but after realizing it wasn't going to be as cheap as we thought, we reconsidered. THEN, jed found THE ONE. a used $16,000 trailer. are you thinking "ew"? cuz i thought that too. so i went and looked at it, and it really wasn't that bad. i actually kind of liked it, and now having lived in it... i love it. it's absolutely huge! but the weird thing is that there is no door to the master bedroom...
regardless, we spruced it up since these pictures and i will post those soon, but i think you can get the general idea from these:

update?
february - still interning. at this point i was having serious car issues and spent a couple hundred from my ever dwindling student account at LU (from surplus scholarship money) that wasn't being replaced as i had no job. it really sucked. anywho, jed and i went out for valentine's day and hit up our favorite place in the world:
afterwards, we went to see a movie. we wanted to see this:
but ended up seeing this:

which actually wasn't bad. jed and i concluded that guys really do act like pigs, and i reluctantly agreed that most girls are indeed irrational and kind of psycho.
march - our would be wedding month. i think we got a house this month, but i'll go into that later with another update blog. i also finished up my internship.
april - this month mostly consisted of jed and i working for the miller family on the blueberry farm. this involved grading berries, packing them into cups, assuring said cups were the correct weight, packing them in boxes, loading them, then shipping them. it's a pretty intense progress, though it is done in an efficient organized manner, and the millers do a great job with keeping their employees well paid and distracting them from being on the brink of insanity from all the montonousness (admittedly, i had to look up that word in noun form... i thought it was monotonaity).
may - blueberries AND graduation AND bridal showers! more in depth blog to come later.
