let me tell you how it went down.
first, i was treated to a lovely meal at koto's, a japanese steakhouse. jed and i barely made it in before closing time, and while we know that is not the nicest thing to do, it was justified by it being a special occasion. so we told ourselves.
they were even kind enough to sing me happy birthday, and also another song in japanese... which i assume had something to do with birthdays, but since i am not fluent in the language, nor does my japanese vocabulary stretch farther than the word "konnichiwa", i cannot be certain.

my wonderful friend julie took me to moe's where we got some huge burritos that were absolutely delicious:
and finally, on friday a bunch of us went putt-putting in the rain:
I had a lot of fun, and I cannot think of a better way to have celebrated my birthday.
on a sadder note, finals are coming up and i have much to do to prepare. it's practically killing me, but it will all be over soon.
THEN...
God provided all of the money for me to go to Senegal!! on may 11 i will be on my way there and i can't wait!
only a couple more weeks...
